Michaele Salahi's Husband "Devastated" Over Her Affair

Michaele Salahi's Husband "Devastated" Over Her Affair

Tareq Salahi is "devastated" that his wife Michaele has run off with the guitarist from Journey, Salahi's attorney said this morning on Good Morning America. Tareq reported the former Real Housewives of D.C. star missing on Tuesday night, fearing that she had been kidnapped, and was apparently blindsided by her affair with Journey band member Neal Schon. But Tareq's not giving up on her yet.

"He's so devastated there's not a goal other than trying to figure out what is going on at this time," said Tareq's attorney. "If there's an opportunity for reconciliation, that's something they can and ought to explore."

That's pretty forgiving of Tareq, 43, especially considering that TMZ is reporting that Machaele, 45, and Schon, 57, have been having "wild sex" since 2009. But given the drama surrounding the Real Housewives franchise lately, Tareq is understandably grateful that the news wasn't worse.

"Tareq is devastated, but he is relieved to know that Michaele is safe," the lawyer noted. "That was his first concern yesterday."

Michaele had a past relationship with Schon -- and, as it turns out, it was no secret. The couple apparently discussed it at length with the author of the book Cirque du Salahi, during which time Michaele called Neal "one of the loves of her life." Still, Tareq seems to have been oblivious to their reconciliation: Earlier this month, he and Michaele both posted Twitpics of themselves posing with Schon and another band member.

"Rocking it this Labor Day weekend with Journey backstage!" Tareq twittered.

His wife's tweet and photo were a little more affectionate: "With Journey live backstage having a rockin bumpin night!! Oxo." Perhaps that should have been a red flag?

Regardless of their relationship status, E! reports that the Salahis are likely to reunite for non-romantic reasons later this month: They're cohosting a charity event for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Michaele is a sufferer) on the Sept. 24. Let's just hope that Journey isn't scheduled to play!
