'The Grey' Director Joe Carnahan Talks Controversial Ending

'You have to decide for you: Is it a movie about a man living and dying or is it a movie about a man fighting a wolf?' Carnahan says.

After three years, we essentially have a new movie tradition on our hands. Since 2009, a Liam Neeson film has opened every January, earning around $20 million in its opening weekend. That much money during one of the box office's most consistently bad months more than proves Neeson's worth as a cold-weather action star.

And it doesn't get much colder than "The Grey." The Arctic thriller won the box office in a surprisingly good weekend for business. Though it made slightly less than Neeson's previous two January releases, "Taken" and "Unknown," the success of "The Grey" signals the star's continued drawing power.

The $20 million take seems even more impressive when you consider that Open Road advertised the movie as little more than Liam Neeson versus wolves. Anyone who saw "The Grey" can attest to a much different picture, one distinctly lacking any of the promised wolf punching. The film plays out much more like an existential drama about men surviving in the wilderness than the supposed "Taken" with wolves premise.

There are spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen the film.

As those who saw "The Grey" this weekend will recall, after the wolves pick off the survivors of the crew one by one, Neeson's character, Ottway, moves on as the only man left. He holds onto the wallets of the men who have died in order to preserve some sort of legacy for the forgotten oil workers. The flashbacks to Ottway's wife or girlfriend throughout the film suggest that she left him, but the final look back reveals her illness and presumed death.

After cursing God, Ottway finds himself in the wolves' den, the center of all the evil that has been hunting him. The poem his father wrote persuades him to continue to fight despite overwhelming odds. He tapes a knife and broken bottles to his hands and prepares to fight. The screen goes dark suddenly, and the film ends without showing Ottway's fight, leaving the audience to fill in the blanks and think about what they've seen.

Director and co-writer Joe Carnahan spoke with MTV News about the creative decisions behind the ending, choices he felt obligated to make. "I felt that to end it any other way, I felt that would be spoon-feeding the audience something that I wasn't interested in spoon-feeding them," Carnahan said. "I think the movie's about something as massive and as mysterious as life and death."

Regardless of how you feel about the ending — whether it signals to a deeper meaning or just leaves promises unfulfilled — Carnahan deserves credit for shirking the expected Hollywood ending. Though fans showed support with ticket sales, the CinemaScore exit polling was not as approving. "The Grey" earned a "B-" from audiences, two marks less than its weekend competition"Man on a Ledge" — which earned a"B+" — and the same score as "One for the Money."

Even if audiences were mildly disappointed as the CinemaScore suggests, Carnahan sees his story as one that required the ending he gave it. "I think it's like, you have to decide for you: Is it a movie about a man living and dying or is it a movie about a man fighting a wolf?" Carnahan said. "Because I think it is incidental, at least in my mind, compared to the great questions that it creates in the end."

Have you seen "The Grey"? Leave your thoughts on the movie in the comments section!

Jennifer Lopez on The Today Show: Will She Marry Again?

She's 0-3 so far, but Jennifer Lopez won't rule out another trip down the aisle.

"I don't know. I don't know. I don't know," the singer told Matt Lauer this morning on The Today Show, responding to whether or not she'd ever get married again. "It's not time to think about that yet. It's still fresh."

That's certainly a fair response, although J. Lo has been getting super cozy over the last few weeks with 24-year old Casper Smart, dining with him and others at Casa Tua in Miami on Saturday and even jumping on the table to perform a dance for her man, sources say.

Over the weekend, Univision premiered ¡Q'Viva! The Chosen, a talent search competition that actually stars Lopez and ex-husband Marc Anthony. Isn't that a bit weird, Lauer asked?

"Marc and I were friends before we got married," Jennifer said. "And we always worked together, so it wasn't an unnatural thing for us to continue working together. And, obviously, we have children together, so it's not going to be like he's not in my life. He's always going to be in my life.

"There is real love there."

Soap Dish: Shout Out To General Hospital’s Jen Lilley

It is Soap Dish time again my friends and this week I am giving a shout out to Jen Lilley, who has been playing Maxie Jones on General Hospital since last fall. She has been filling in for an ill Kirsten Storms and she is killing it. When I first saw Jen on screen instead of Kirsten, who I have been a huge fan of since she played Belle on Days of Our Lives, I was like who is this chick. I was not at all pleased that there was a new Maxie. I shamefully admit that I immediately began to judge the new actress and I might have not been so nice. However fast forward five months later and I am in awe of the amazing and talented Jen Lilley. She has quickly become one of my favorite actresses on GH. To come in and fill in for a super popular actress and character on a soap opera is a really tough job and many fail at it but not Jen. Nope she has stayed true to the character and brought her own unique qualities to Maxie that have quite honestly showered another layer to her, which I love. [...]

Kim Kardashian's Salon Run-In with Kyle Richards

Just a day away from her E! show's big second season finale, Kim Kardashian spent her Saturday afternoon (January 28) getting pampered in Los Angeles, California.

The 31-year-old brunette beauty first tended to an appointment at Anastasia Salon before hitting Nail Salon across the street, where she bumped into "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards.

The sighting comes as Kim is gearing up for tomorrow's airing of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York" - during which she's seen in a preview clip dealing with the emotional rollercoaster of her marital demise with ex-husband Kris Humphries.

In the teaser, Miss Kardashian's heard saying of the inevitable split, "It's hard for me. He's a good heart, he's a Christian - everything on paper I want in someone, but for some reason, my heart isn't connecting."

"I feel awful that I made him move out here and change his whole life. I feel sad, I feel bad for the guy," Kim continues, with all of the drama set to unfold beginning at 10/9c on E!

Justin Bieber's Next Album Is 'Ridiculous'

Manager Scooter Braun tweets from studio where singer is working on Believe.

<P>With <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> in full-on album recording mode, his longtime manager, Scooter Braun, has heard just what the teen star is up to and wants everyone to know that <i>Believe</i> is a game-changer for the singer. "Wow!! In the studio with @justinbieber and #Believe is going to be ridiculous!!!" he <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/scooterbraun" target="_blank">tweeted</a> about the 17-year-old's 2012 release. Braun's message came the same day that Bieber announced that he's officially working on the project. "Start recording full time for #BELIEVE today. let the fun begin! #newMusic," he <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/justinbieber" target="_blank">tweeted</a> on Tuesday, hours later adding, "#studio." <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:714678/cp~id%3D1672718%26vid%3D714678%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A714678%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> But it seems that he'll take a break to hit up the Consumer Electronics Show, which is currently under way in Las Vegas. "Gonna see what is coming next. #gadgetNERD," he proclaimed. While Bieber has said that he wants his next release to recall <a href="/news/articles/1672847/justin-bieber-my-world-new-album-justin-timberlake.jhtml">Justin Timberlake's <i>Future Sex/Love Sounds</i></a> sonically, in a recent interview with <i>V</i> magazine, he noted that what he'll be singing is a bit more PG than the topics Timberlake covered on that album. "I'm not going to try to conform to what people want me to be or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol. I want to do it at my own pace," <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/01/10/justin-bieber-talks-sex-drugs-and-rock-and-roll/">Bieber says</a> in the issue. "I don't want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing. I'm into love, and maybe I'll get more into making love when I'm older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody." Bieber may not want to get too graphic on this album, but vocal producer <a href="/news/articles/1675015/justin-bieber-new-album.jhtml">Kuk Harrell did note</a> to MTV News that he will be maturing on it in his own way. "The only conversation we've had about Justin's album that we're about to do is it's really important that it's the proper transition because we've seen him [with] 'Baby,' now we're watching him grow up," said Harrell, who also worked with the singer on <i>Under the Mistletoe.</i> "And we can't just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There's a record in between." <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:702340/cp~id%3D1672718%26vid%3D702340%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A702340%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> <i>Are you looking forward to Justin's next album? Idris Elba Feeling 'Love' After Golden Globe Win

Idris Elba might have been celebrating at the 2012 Golden Globes for his "Luther" win, but he has a number of high-profile projects coming up also worth cheering over. MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with the British actor to get an update on Elba's role in several of 2013's biggest movies.

Next year, Elba will star in Guillermo del Toro's big, ambitious, monster versus robot movie "Pacific Rim." The actor has been in Toronto filming del Toro's first film since 2008's "Hellboy II: The Golden Army," and he said he can't wait to get back.

"I'm going back tomorrow morning. I've been there for five months," Elba said. "I love it. Guillermo's a genius, and the film we're making is a huge film, bad monster movie and robots and me."

If starring in del Toro's next film wasn't enough, Elba also has his own spot in the Marvel universe to worry about. The actor confirmed that his character, Heimdall, would be making another appearance soon. " 'Thor 2' for sure," Elba said. " 'Avengers,' we're not sure about, but 'Thor 2' we're going at it again."

Elba won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for "Luther," a BBC series about a troubled detective. He shared his excitement about winning for a smaller show. "This is great. We made our little show in London, and now we're getting this worldwide recognition of it," Elba said. "Love it."

Check out the 2012 Golden Globes winners, and don't miss all the fashion from the Golden Globes red carpet!

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> is hard at work on his next album. Raymond</i>. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:717257" width="240" height="211"></div><p> "I saw Usher a few times, but I spoke to him at length at David [Guetta]'s house when we were in Ibiza [Spain]," he told MTV News in L.A. after his Jingle Ball set. "He has very specific ideas of where he wants to go musically and sound-wise." Given that Usher has never shied away from exposing a bit of himself in his music, while also keeping the party going, Cruz wants to make sure they can connect the mind, body and soul for this next release. "He always wants there to be the soul in there," he explained. "I'm kind of, not the opposite, but I'm always like, 'Let's get straight to the point and be really clear with the message and be simple.' "So we try to match those two worlds together: being soulful and, at the same time, catchy," he added. Cruz can't yet discuss what they're working on: Besides "Without You," he said, "Everything else is secret." Usher said he was drawn to the <a href="/news/articles/1674782/usher-david-guetta-without-you.jhtml">Guetta hit</a> because he connected to it emotionally, explaining to MTV News recently what an important part that plays in his musical philosophy. "I think the world wanted a record like that. That [song] really spoke to the journey that I've actually been on in the last three years," he said. "Traveling all around the world, music sounds different. There's many different genres, and when you see R&B and pop and house, as well as electronic, come together, that's the reality of what music is." <div style="background-color:#000000;width:428px;"><div style="padding:4px;"><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:713197/cp~vid%3D713197%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A713197" width="420" height="236" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></div></div></p>

The 2012 Golden Globe Awards wasn't quite as controversial or lewd as Ricky Gervais' memorable turn as host at last year's show — indeed, this time around, the British comedian's jokes were missing some of that signature sting — but the results were no less interesting for cinephiles keeping a watchful eye on the road towards Oscar.

Leonardo DiCaprio & Gerard Butler's Weinstein Night

Adding some masculine energy to the scene, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gerard Butler were both spotted at the Weinstein Company’s 2012 Golden Globe Awards After Party last night (January 15).

The “Catch Me If You Can” hunk chatted with producer Harvey Weinstein at the Beverly Hilton Hotel bash, looking handsome in a classic black tuxedo.

Meanwhile, Butler was busy catching up with fellow Tinseltown heartthrob Rob Lowe as he posed for a few pictures.

In a recent interview, Gerard confessed that he’s been milking his surfing accident for all kinds of sympathy over the holidays.

"There were a couple of times when I saw people in the kitchen and I thought I could be doing a little bit more.'Do you know what I've just been through? You’re lucky I’m here. And you’re going to ask me… it’s washing up! It’s water! I can’t even see the water, any kind of foam – it's too much, what if I fall in?!'"

<P>It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories. "I had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good." </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:647708" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m." "Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory &#8212; because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?" While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]." Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life." "My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb &amp; Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' " Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night." Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy." <i>Share your prom memories in the comments below!</i></p>

Golden Globes 2012 Predictions: Best Picture

'The Artist' and 'The Descendants' seem poised to take home top prizes, but MTV News has some different suggestions.
By Eric Ditzian

MTV News has already made its pick for the Best Movie of 2011. But "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," for some bizarre and troubling reason, didn't make the cut for the folks in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, even though 10 films were nominated across two categories.

Thus, tonight's Golden Globes celebration will not bestow its ultimate prize upon David Fincher's sizzling exploration of Swedish sex, psychology and sadism. But there remain many worthy contenders facing off on Globe night. Which films will triumph? Check out our picks and our unrealistic wishes below:

Best Picture - Musical or Comedy
We remain baffled by the adulation for "Midnight in Paris," a film whose fantastical exploration of Paris in the 1920s is more cliché-ridden than your average GOP primary stump speech. And how "My Week With Marilyn," despite an admirably imitative performance from Michelle Williams, snuck into this category would be a question we'd ask if the extent of HFPA's corruption weren't a matter of public record. We've got no beef with the rest of the nominees, especially considering "50/50" and "Bridesmaids" both ended up on MTV's year-end list. Alas, neither is likely to win.

Who Will Win: For anyone who thought "The Hurt Locker" and its sub-$20 million box-office haul made for too populist an awards-season darling, meet "The Artist," a silent, black-and-white film that has so far reeled in less than $8 million domestically.

Who Should Win: Any human who tells you "Bridesmaids" wasn't the funniest movie of 2011 is either a liar or dead inside. Or a producer of "The Artist." Kristen Wiig drunkenly romping around an airplane? Maya Rudolph pooping in the street while clad in a wedding dress? Jon Hamm offering up the most lovably hateable douche bag in recent cinematic memory? That's a whole lot of win. Too bad HFPA won't agree.

Best Picture - Drama
This category could turn any which way Sunday. A surging "Help" took home the most prizes at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Thursday. Not that the CCMAs are a terribly good predictor of the Globes. What's more, "The Help" is likely going to triumph in the acting categories rather than Best Picture. When George Clooney is in the mix, you can never count out one of his films, so "The Descendants" could pull off an eyebrow-raising win. The same can be said for legends like Martin Scorsese ("Hugo") and Steven Spielberg ("War Horse"). Anything. Can. Happen.

Who Will Win: People love Clooney. And movies about families dealing with grief. And Clooney. Why people don't love Matt Damon and his similarly themed "We Bought a Zoo" as much remains a mystery. "Descendants" will take this one home.

Who Should Win: Um, "Dragon Tattoo"? Or "Drive"? Right, those films didn't get nominations. "Moneyball" is an exceedingly ordinary baseball movie, "War Horse" is just too silly at its core to take seriously (even though it did reduce us to tears before the credits rolled), and "Help," as stellar as its individual performances were, just didn't wow us as a whole. Scorsese's "Hugo" is the last film remaining standing. We're cool with that.

Stick with MTV News all night for the 2012 Golden Globes winners, and don't miss all the fashion from the Golden Globes red carpet!

Beyonce And Jay-Z's Baby Girl: What Does Her Nursery Look Like?

PoshTots' Andrea Edmunds shows MTV News what Blue Ivy's nest might look like.

<P>Last week, <a href="/news/articles/1677033/blue-ivy-beyonce-jay-z-leaves-hospital.jhtml">Beyonc&#233; and Jay-Z left Lenox Hill Hospital</a> with their new bundle of joy, Blue Ivy Carter. Born on January 7, baby Blue already made history when she became the youngest to make it on a <a href="/news/articles/1677163/beyonce-jay-z-baby-blue-carter-glory-song.jhtml"><i>Billboard</i> chart</a>, so it's safe to assume that Blue is destined for success. For now, Blue and Mom are hopefully resting at home in what is sure to be a very chic nursery. So what could <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;</a> and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jay_z/artist.jhtml">Jay-Z</a>'s nursery for Blue look like? To get an idea, MTV News caught up with Andrea Edmunds, the president of PoshTots, a designer of choice for celebrity parents looking to create a dream nursery. <CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:725377/cp~name%3Dnews%26id%3D1676907%26vid%3D725377%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A725377" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER> Edmunds has worked with Heidi Klum, Kimora Lee Simmons, Gwyneth Paltrow and a host of other stars to help get their homes ready for a baby. On Thursday, Edmunds stopped by MTV News and put together a dream nursery for Blue Ivy, which included a star favorite item, the <a href="http://www.poshtots.com/baby-furniture/baby-furniture/bassinets-cradles/dynasty-cradle/18/207/1315/1550/poshproductdetail.aspx" target="_blank">Dynasty iron cradle</a>. "A cradle is a must for moms who want babies close by. We have a lot of celebrity moms who have purchased this actual cradle." Edmunds said of the cradle, which retails for $2,000. "It's sophisticated, it's elegant and &#8212; look at it &#8212; I think it says Beyonc&#233;." Edmunds also brought along some of her most popular baby gifts, which include angora booties (a popular gift among celebrities like George Clooney and Paltrow). "A silk charmeuse blanket retails for $450, and it's a favorite gift. Gwyneth Paltrow has given this as baby gifts and it's a favorite among celebrities." Now, Edmunds would not divulge if Beyonc&#233; is a client, but rumors have been swirling that she and Jay-Z registered for her <a href="http://www.poshtots.com/interior-design-guide/nursery-necessities/all-baby-cribs/fantasy-carriage-crib/3378/3381/1313/12867/poshproductdetail.aspx" target="_blank">Fantasy Coach Carriage Crib</a>, which retails for $20,000. "I will tell you that we do have a coach carriage, and we have sold the coach carriage." Edmunds said. "We do work with a lot of celebrities, and we do respect our clients' confidentiality." <i>What do you think Blue's nursery looks like? Let us know in the comments.</i> </p>

'Hunger Games' Looking Fierce In Movie Brawl Elite Eight

What's your pick for the must-see movie of 2012? Cast your vote now!
By Eric Ditzian

Tim Tebow ain't got nothing on the MTV Movie Brawl 2012. Sure, the granter of all-American dreams and thrower of game-winning touchdowns showed some playoff heroics last weekend, but the action in MTV's cinematic tournament had movie groupies alternately sweating, cursing and celebrating just as much as Denver Bronco fans.

To wit, two of Robert Pattinson's upcoming films, "Bel Ami" and "Cosmopolis," faced off in a Sweet Sixteen matchup that was decided by three votes. Tens of thousands of votes were cast, and three clicks launched "Cosmopolis" to victory. On the other side of the bracket, #7 seed "The Woman in Black," an indie horror flick, looked like it didn't have a chance against Universal's big-budget "Snow White and the Huntsman." But Daniel Radcliffe fans came out in force to support the boy wizard's first post-"Harry Potter" flick, showing up Kristen Stewart devotees with a healthy serving of get the hell out of this tournament! When the final tally came in, more than 250,000 votes had been cast, and KStew's fairy tale was headed home with a lot of explaining to do.

Vote For Your Favorite Upcoming Flick In MTV's Movie Brawl 2012!

As least she's still alive in the Brawl, as "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" came through with a commanding victory over "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace," despite the nefarious meddling of "Hunger Games" fans, who were furiously voting for "Phantom Menace" in an attempt to send the vampires to a humiliating defeat. It didn't work. "HG" fans, though, weren't the only ones trying to pull off a bit of bracket-based strategery. "Breaking Dawn" voters came out in force to support "Prometheus" in its fight with "Hunger Games." Once again, the gambit didn't work. But it showed just how merciless this competition is going to be as we inch toward the finals.

Let's take a look at where we stand as the Elite Eight kicks into high gear.

Upper West Region
It's all Pattinson, all the time, as "Breaking Dawn" faces off against "Cosmopolis." The key question here for Twi-fans is whether they're going to vote for RPattz as he's been or RPattz as he's going to be. Will it be out with the old and in with the new, or will the sparkly vampires reign supreme? If you ask us, "Breaking Dawn" ain't going nowhere, but this tourney isn't up to us.

Lower West Region
It's getting dark up in here! "The Dark Knight Rises" limped into the Sweet Sixteen after a disappointing first-round showing, and we were fearful Christopher Nolan's film would face an early ouster at the hands of "Marvel's The Avengers." That didn't happen, and now "Dark Knight" faces a weakened "Dark Shadows" in the Elite Eight. Johnny Depp's upcoming film surprised us all with an outstanding opening-round performance, leading to a #2 seed. But "Shadows" struggled in its matchup, needing up until the final hours of play to put the match away. Momentum is everything in the playoffs, so we have to say "Dark Knight" is in the driver's seat in this game.

Upper East Region
Were it not for the savvy scheming of "Twilight" fans, "Hunger Games" might have walked away from the Sweet Sixteen with the greatest margin of victory in the entire tournament. As it stands, "HG" heads into the Elite Eight with perhaps the easiest matchup of all. "John Carter" and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" fought back and forth for days, with leads changing hands and the ultimate victor too close to call until an eleventh-hour surge sent "G.I. Joe" ahead. That leaves us wondering if the sequel has enough left in the gas tank to pull off a win. Actually, we're not wondering at all: shut off the lights and put the kids to bed: "Hunger Games" has this in the bag.

Lower East Region
Voters in this region are still reeling from the unexpected departure of "Snow White." There's no time to rest, though. "Woman in Black" has established itself as a dark horse in the Brawl — one that could threaten "Hunger Games" in the Final Four. Before then, however, Radcliffe's flick will have to battle a resurgent "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." Peter Jackson's film waged a hard-fought war with Emma Watson's "Perks of Being a Wallflower" and came out with a narrow 3 percent victory. That's some impressive stuff. Can "Hobbit" keep it going? Is there anything that can keep "Woman in Black" from a trip to the Final Four? We've got until January 16 to decide. That's when voting in the Elite Eight ends. There are no excuses in the Movie Brawl. Get busy voting!

What are you waiting for? Your must-see movie needs your support. It's time to show character, poise and heart. Vote for your picks now at MTV Movie Brawl 2012!
