Miranda Kerr Nabs Spot on Top 10 Money-Making Models List
Beginning her day with a business meeting, Miranda Kerr was spotted heading into an office building in New York City this morning (March 19).
Joined by her puppy pal, the David Jones supermodel looked cute and casual in a printed top with a black jacket and denim skirt as she strolled past some shutterbugs.
In financial news, Miranda has one again been named to the list of the world’s highest paid models for 2011, with a net worth of $11.4 million.
Scoring the #10 spot, she comes in behind Abbey Lee Kershaw, Kathy Ireland, Gisele Bundchen, Tyra Banks, Kate Moss, Heidi Klum, Elle Macpherson, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell.

Jessica Simpson Baby Shower: Star-Studded, Special
Jessica Simpson is about to pop.
On Sunday, in honor of that fact, the star was joined by more than 50 of her close friends and family, including her Texas family members and stars like Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo, Jess' sister Ashlee and Jessica Alba, for a baby shower!
Aside from the big names, it was a pretty standard soiree.
"It was a kid friendly shower with many of her friends bringing babies," a source says. "Jessica [Alba] brought her baby Haven and Ashlee brought Bronx."
Earlier this month, the singer/actress/designer confirmed to Elle (which features Jessica Simpson nude on its cover) that she is expecting a baby girl.
Coming as no surprise, pink and yellow was the surrounding color theme of the day, with tube-shaped balloons and spring tulips throughout the venue.
"She received tons of gifts mostly wrapped in pink boxes," adds the source. "There were several books, stuffed toys and clothes among other items."
"She seemed completely ecstatic" an eyewitness added.

Katy Perry's Best 'MTV First' Moments ... So Far!
Singer will premiere 'Part of Me' video on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV.

Katy Perry will sit down with MTV News on Wednesday, March 21, to premiere her emotional, feisty clip for "Part of Me" during "MTV First: Katy Perry." The premiere takes place at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV, and it's followed by a 30-minute chat with MTV News' very own James Montgomery, airing live on MTV.com.
The singer, however, isn't a "First" newbie. Perry sat down with Sway Calloway in March 2011 to premiere the Floria Sigismondi-directed "E.T." video, and afterward she opened up about the spacey clip. She later won the Best Collaboration VMA with Kanye West for the video.
So before she sits down with MTV News for her latest "First," let's reflect on the best trivia we learned from her candid first one.
How did Katy end up recording the super-trippy "E.T."?
"I'll tell you, it's funny ... this song, I remember writing with Max Martin and Dr. Luke, and there's this producer they wrote with, named Ammo, and they were just showing me different samples of songs or tracks or beats, and they accidentally pulled up this beat, and it was for Three 6 Mafia," Perry said about the song, which is about falling in love with an alien. "I heard it and I always knew I wanted to write this futuristic, alienistic song, and they pulled it up and I was like, 'Wait, I can wrap my head around this. I know this seems like a long shot, but I think I have the perfect material to put on top of this sound.' And I did, and it really worked out perfectly."
How did she end up looking like a sexy alien creature in the video?
"It was, like, five and six hours, each makeup look," Perry said. "It was hard for me! It was really a patience thing for me on this video. But, you know, it's like when you're doing a film. Sometimes you have to do prosthetics, and you have to get really old or turn into an animal or a monster — and that's kind of what this process was."
Would Katy ever travel to space?
"I'm so into extraterrestrial stuff. ... It's very difficult for me to look up into the sky in the middle of the night and not think that our planet is one of ... a bajillion. It's really, really small," she said, later sharing that she had plans to travel to space with her then-hubby Russell Brand.
Well, with the singer always saying and doing the unexpected, Katy Cats should expect even more memorable moments this time around.
"Part of Me" is the lead single off of her March 27 album release, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, which she will also talk about, as well as her forthcoming concert movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me."

Before the premiere of "Part of Me," a tease of the clip will air on "VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live" on March 21 at 10 a.m. ET/PT, giving fans a taste of what they can expect from Katy in the video. In the super-fast teaser, Perry is channeling her inner Marine. A few shots of guns and night vision preview boot camp for the singer. The sneak peek closes on Perry's face painted in camouflage makeup. She shot the video on a military base in California in February.
Immediately following the premiere of "Part of Me" on MTV, the video for the deeply emotional single will air on Logo, debut on MTV.com, VH1.com and LOGOtv.com, and go into rotation on mtvU, MTV Hits and AMTV the following morning. Additionally, the video will debut on Saturday, March 24, at 9 a.m. ET/PT during VH1's "Top 20 Countdown" and on TeenNick's "Obsess This" music block at 7 a.m. ET and Sunday, March 25, at 8:30 a.m. ET.

The Rosie Show On OWN Cancelled
The OWN network has cancelled The Rosie Show after just a few months on air. The talk show will air its final episode on March 30th. It looks like Oprah’s network is making some changes, hopefully some that will help the network ratings wises. One casualty of this change is Rosie O’Donnell’s talks show that debuted five months ago. The network revealed the cancellation of the show on Friday nigh. Oprah obviously had a little something to say about this news. As I have learned in the last 15 months, a new network launch is always a challenge and ratings grow over time as you continue to gather an audience. I’m grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all. Winfrey also thanked Rosie as well as praised her for working so hard on the show. 'Hunger Games' Director Gary Ross 'Sorry' About Cuts
'There was no room for [Avox subplot] in the storytelling, unfortunately,' director tells MTV News.

When adapting a beloved book like "The Hunger Games," a filmmaker will inevitably face cuts and changes that are difficult to make. Gary Ross, however, was able to make a largely faithful adaptation without serious cuts to the main story line.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
One of the most-significant scenes invented specifically for the movie comes after Rue's death in the arena. There's a shot of the citizens rioting in response. Ross explained to MTV News that he added the scene to better set up the events of the sequel, "Catching Fire."
"I thought it was important that you begin to start to make the turn into 'Catching Fire,' that you see the seeds of the rebellion, you see what Katniss has caused," Ross said. "It's a change ['HG' author] Suzanne [Collins] loves. It's something that she's fully embraced as well, that you begin to see the incipient beginnings of this rebellion."
The riot scene is special for another reason, as well. It was partly shot by Ross' friend and frequent collaborator, director Steven Soderbergh. "That riot, as you know, was shot by my friend Steven Soderbergh. He came in for a day — I shot some — but he shot a lot of that riot," Ross said. "He did such a good job. Steven, thank you very much."
The biggest edit from the original novel had to do with the Avox, or speechless Capitol servant, that Katniss meets. Ross admitted to MTV News that it was difficult to make that exclusion. "There's a subplot that Suzanne goes into, which I love, which is about this girl, almost a precursor to Katniss, who was engaged in a flight toward freedom, apprehended by the Capitol, turned into an Avox," he explained.
"It was just that there was no room for that in the storytelling, unfortunately. The William Faulkner line is, 'You have to kill your darlings.' That was one that unfortunately fell by the wayside. I was sorry about it."

Teen Mom Ending After Four Seasons
The upcoming fourth season of Teen Mom will be the last season for the original cast members. Yep the original four who were cast from the first season of 16 and Pregnant will no longer have their own show, sadly though that doesn’t mean that Teen Mom is going away for good. MTV shared the news that after four seasons Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood will no longer be a part of the Teen Mom series. Oh and that they will continue to make a positive impact on the teenage pregnancy prevention, yeah because they are such great role models. Avengers' Hulk: Hardest Character To Adapt To Film?
In 'Talk Nerdy,' experts agree with Joss Whedon's claim that Hulk is the most difficult Avenger to get right.

Bruce Banner has a tendency to get angry. And despite what he says, you really should like him when he gets angry — because if you don't, well, you're going to have a lot of problems with "The Avengers."
Joss Whedon, the man bringing Earth's Mightiest Heroes to the big screen, confessed in a recent interview that Banner's irritable alter ego, the Hulk, is easily the most challenging Avenger to get right. He might not be wrong, considering that it's taken three different actors to play the big green meanie on the big screen — Eric Bana in 2003's "Hulk," Ed Norton in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" and, soon, Mark Ruffalo in "The Avengers." And Whedon's assertion certainly has the support of some of the Web's top comic book and movie commentators.
"Without a doubt, I think Hulk is the hardest 'Avengers' character to translate to the big screen," MTV Geek's Valerie Gallaher told MTV News about her "Avengers" character concerns. "Using CGI to create a character in a live-action film will end up looking like one big cartoon if not done right."
"Both Joss Whedon and Mark Ruffalo have a lot of pressure to give Bruce Banner and the Hulk two distinctive yet relatable characters," agreed Steve Sunu of Comic Book Resources. "Only time will tell if 'The Avengers' is an improvement for Hulk over 'The Incredible Hulk.' "
Of course, just because a challenge exists doesn't mean it's insurmountable. NextMovie's Kevin Polowy, who also agrees that Hulk presents Whedon's biggest challenge, has faith in the director's ability to do the Jade Giant justice. "I do have faith that if anyone can get it done, it's Joss Whedon," he said. "But compared to proven screen figures like Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, Hulk is far and away the trickiest pony in the bunch."
Not everyone is so concerned about Hulk. Caleb Goellner with Comics Alliance doesn't see the incredible menace as the most problematic character in "The Avengers"; like me, he assigns that role to the not-super-deadly duo of Black Widow and Hawkeye.
"They're going to be the hardest to portray," he said. "Black Widow got some exposure in 'Iron Man 2' and Hawkeye was teased in 'Thor,' but the 'master assassins' are at a disadvantage compared to Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk. Their backstories will require considerable streamlining for them to make sense in this Marvel movieverse, so it will be interesting to see how much Joss Whedon and company will be able to fit in to an already packed movie.
"I suggest making them husband and wife, because that would be the cutest damn thing," Goellner added. Totally agreed, Caleb.

Future Returns To Atlanta For 'Same Damn Time' Video
It's 'more like a movie,' Future tells MTV News of his new video while on set.

For his upcoming "Same Damn Time" video, Future returned to Atlanta to capture "ordinary life, everyday life" in his hometown. When MTV News caught up with him on set recently, the rapper shared that the hood-inspired visuals, helmed by director Dr. Teeth, will be "more like a movie."
DJ Drama, who was also on-hand for the shoot, shared his enthusiasm for the song. "It's crazy in the streets, it's crazy in the club," he told MTV News. "Future seems to be kind of flawless right now." As far as Future's concerned, "It's astronaut status," a reference to his mixtape of the same name, released earlier this year.
Future's buzz on and off the streets has been growing since his catchy hit "Tony Montana." The gangster-themed and irresistibly repetitive song was so popular that Beyoncé listed it as one of her favorite songs of 2011. The San Francisco 49ers even warmed up to the track and asked the rapper to perform it during kick-off against the New Orleans Saints in January's NFC Championship Game.
"I didn't know how much they loved it, but from my understanding they had been coming out to the song for like 8 months, working out, warming up to the song and they just made it a part of their team," Future said at the time. "It feels good to be a part of the franchise right now, to be able to take them to the next level, as their good luck charm."
Hit singles and a sizable buzz solidified a place for Future in XXL's 2012 Freshman Class issue alongside including Iggy Azalea, French Montana, Danny Brown and MTV's 2011 Hottest Breakthrough MC Machine Gun Kelly.

'21 Jump Street' Exclusive Clip Sneak Peek
New, nearly five-minute-long clip featuring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum is action-packed and F-bomb-filled.

If you think you've already seen enough "21 Jump Street" clips and red-band trailers to fully whet your appetite for the upcoming release of the action comedy, think again. MTV News got our hands on an exclusive new trailer that is action-packed, F-bomb-filled and nearly five minutes in length. We're confident that there's something for everyone age 17 and up here. But don't just take our word for it — click through to see for yourself.
The lengthy clip opens with an introduction to our would-be heroes, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum), who are fresh out of the police academy and not quite as badass at being cops as they thought they would be. After a botched arrest, their boss (deftly played by "Parks and Recreation" star Nick Offerman) sends them to be a part of a recently revived high school undercover program that is introduced by intense overlord Captain Dickson (Ice Cube). While Dickson speaks about the dos and don'ts involved in the program — particularly the rules that must not be broken — the clip cuts to specific hilarious scenes from the film that show Schmidt and Jenko breaking all said rules: starting fights with students, doing drugs, serving alcohol to minors and the like. The action quickly escalates, from trying to infiltrate the high school drug trade with a party that gets out of control (Schmidt gets a knife in the shoulder in the process) to a full-on shoot-out that has the boys shooting guns from a limo. It's a lot to take in, and perfect for multiple viewings.
When MTV News caught up with the two talented stars recently, they talked about going all out for the film and taking chances with casting.
"You never know what's going to be funny," Tatum said. "You've got to sort of just go and fall on your face to see if anything can fly. Something that's funny on the day won't be funny in front of people. And Jonah and [directors] Chris [Miller] and Phil [Lord] and everybody just made it a really safe environment to kind of just try things out."
"We needed someone from the action world who had credibility because I wanted the movie to feel like 'Bad Boys' meets a John Hughes movie," Hill, who also served as a producer on the film, said about wanting to cast someone unexpected like Tatum.

'Katy Perry: Part Of Me' Concert Movie Due This Summer
'FINALLY, my MOVIE is coming out with Paramount this summer!' singer tweets.

Get ready for a Katy Perry concert movie because it is coming your way this summer — in 3-D, of course. The Grammy-winning pop star announced the news herself via Twitter on Wednesday that "Katy Perry: Part of Me" is headed to a theater near you.
"FINALLY, my MOVIE is coming out with Paramount this summer!" Perry tweeted to her nearly 16 million followers. "It's called "KATY PERRY: PART OF ME" Presented In 3D! KATYCATS-LETS TREND #KP3D"
Back in early February, news broke that Paramount had approached Perry and her camp about doing a documentary-style 3-D film à la the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber and "Glee" before her. Clearly the discussions went well because five weeks later, the film not only has an official title but is already slated for release.
Paramount Pictures confirmed the project to MTV News.
Perry's dedicated fans were quick to express their enthusiasm for the news.
"Omg omg omg just died a little!" @chlo_katycat tweeted, while @VirginiaMalik12 remained slightly skeptical but optimistic in hearing about the quick turnaround from development to release.
"Hah are you sure?" she tweeted at Perry. "Oh my god, i'm so excited. i will wait #KP3D .:)"
Although Perry is not currently on tour, she is keeping herself busy with a variety of projects. She is featured in the new Sims video game "The Sims 3: Showtime," and is currently prepping for the March 26 release of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, an album that features all of her songs from her chart-topping album Teenage Dream plus some bonus tracks.
"With Teenage Dream, the reasons why I wanted to put out this special edition, Complete Confection, is two major reasons for me: One, I'm doing it mostly for the hard-core fans because they always love all the extras," Perry told MTV News in Los Angeles. "The second reason I wanted to do it is because it's my one last push, to push that person that is on the precipice of becoming a fan. They're thinking to themselves, 'I bought four or five singles, maybe I should actually complete my album and now I should really complete my album because I'm gonna get 19 songs for a really great price.' I think it's like a bargain and I'm doing it for my fans."

Halle Berry Hobbles Into LAX as New "Dark Tide" Clip Drops
Jetting in from Germany after tending to her Deichmann Store duties, Halle Berry was spotted hopping off a flight at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Wednesday (March 7).
Still sporting a boot on her injured foot, the "X-Men" actress was all smiles as she made her way through the terminal and out to an awaiting ride while clad in a leather jacket and scarf.
Meanwhile, in a sneak peek of the film that brought the duo together in real life, "Dark Tide" follows shark expert Kate (Halle Berry) and her onscreen ex-boyfriend (Olivier Martinez) during a thrill-seeking shark dive outside the cage.
In one scene, Berry lashes out at her real-life beau when he pressures her to get back into the water with the sharks, saying, "He wants to see big ones? Let's show him big ones, this fool's paid big money to see big sharks."
With a sneak peek of "Dark Tide" found below, the film is set to hit theaters on March 30th and VOD by Lionsgate and Wrekin Hill this Thursday, March 8th.

iPad 3: What Does It Mean For Movies?

For its third incarnation, Apple's iPad is going high-definition.
Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the new tablet in front of a crowd of industry insiders and bloggers Wednesday (March 7) in San Francisco. One of the biggest updates to the gadget is an upgrade to a retina display with double the resolution of the iPad 2, touting a 2048x1536 screen and 264 pixels per inch. With such a significant change to the tablet's screen, the new iPad is sure to change the way we watch movies on tablets.
With the iPad's display upgrade comes the possibility of 1080p screen resolution, something that has, up until this point, never been done on a tablet before.
The move to 1080p on the iPad coincided with a much larger upgrade across the iTunes Store. Movies purchased or rented from the iTunes Store not only come in the up-scaled 1080p resolution, but also are shareable across Apple devices with the help of the file-sharing service iCloud. Movies and TV shows are now shareable through iCloud and can be re-downloaded across all devices.
This includes an updated version of Apple TV, which brings your iTunes-purchased video to your home entertainment system, now in 1080p. The Apple TV interface also added a recommendation feature based on what you've previously bought and viewed.
The new iPad also upgraded the back camera, now called the iSight camera. The new lens and features will allow 1080p video recording. Additionally, Apple 4G LTE capabilities to bust download speeds.
The new iPad will be available for purchase in the United States on March 16 in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.

Lana Del Rey 'Compelled' By Britney Spears

<P>To look at her, you'd think <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rey_lana_del/artist.jhtml"_blank">Lana Del Rey's</a> inspirations come mostly from 1940s detective movies and sepia-toned Hollywood pinups. But the "Video Games" singer told England's Magic 105.4 that one of her big fashion and music icons is Britney Spears. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:724891.id:1677189" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"I'm not really interested in a ton of female musicians but there is something about Britney that compelled me — the way she sings and just the way she looks," Del Rey said. And even though she's just released her major-label debut under the Del Rey name, she added that she's already kind of over music-making. </P><P> </P><P>"The thing that makes me happy now isn't really singing," she said. "Music was once the be-all and end-all, but when you lose everything you have over and over again, it's not so important." </P><P> </P><P>It might be a bit early for her to bail on the whole music thing though, since her album, <I>Born to Die</I>, topped the iTunes album charts in 14 countries this week, including the U.S., U.K., Italy, France, Germany, Ireland and Mexico. </P><P> </P><P>The chart triumph — and a possible #2 debut next week on the <I>Billboard</i> albums tally — came despite a rash of negative or <a href="/news/articles/1678050/lana-del-rey-album-born-to-die-reviews.jhtml">middling reviews</a>
 of the album as well as the continuing fallout from her shaky <a href="/news/articles/1677389/lana-del-rey-snl.jhtml">"Saturday Night Live"</a>
 debut last month. </P><P> </P><P>The haterade has gotten her label boss, Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, to chime in on the flack his latest protégé has been taking. "It's a drag," Iovine told <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/lana-del-rey-backlash-jimmy-iovine-286378" target="_blank"><I>The Hollywood Reporter</I></a>. "Maybe this is a new sport. It's something we've never seen before. Or maybe it's [like] the Giants and the Jets." Del Rey herself told <I>Rolling Stone</I> that she thought she looked "beautiful" and sang "fine" on the show, saying that "that's just the way I perform, and my fans know that." </P><P> </P><P>Say what you want about Del Rey's looks, attitude and performance ability, but Iovine said there is one thing you can't mess with. </P><P> </P><P>Musically, he thinks <I>Die</I> is "really good. Great lyrics and great songs. I don't care what anybody says, 'Video Games' is a great song. When she sings that song, it moves me. It's how we signed her — she sang and it was beautiful. I think she's really talented. Period."</p>

Britney Spears' Engagement Ring: How Does It Stack Up?

<P>After <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> confirmed her <a href="/news/articles/1676120/britney-spears-is-engaged.jhtml">engagement to longtime beau Jason Trawick</a> last Friday, fans wanted to know everything about the ring, a four-carat diamond designed by Neil Lane. </P><P> </P><P>Trawick — Brit's former agent — popped the question after working with famed jeweler Lane on the design, according to <a href="http://stylenews.peoplestylewatch.com/2011/12/18/jason-trawick-britney-spears-engagement-ring" target="_blank">People.com</a>. The site also reported that Trawick wanted a crown-like band. In addition to the mega-sparkler at the center of the tiara-style setting, the hubby-to-be also had 90 small round diamonds added around the band. Spears debuted the ring during a trip to Las Vegas over the weekend to celebrate her fiancé's birthday. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:720382" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"Jason is a romantic and when I asked him to tell me about Britney and what the ring would represent to them so I could find inspiration, his response was always the same — she is his princess!" "Jason didn't want an over-the-top ring with a giant stone." </P><P> </P><P>Minya Oh, the author of "Bling Bling: Hip Hop's Crown Jewels," told MTV News she was pleasantly surprised by how understated the rock is. "The ring is so damn classy! It's [four] carats, which by Hollywood standards these days is practically microscopic," Oh said. "The setting is a tiny crown but both that and the thin diamond-studded band are done so delicately, from afar the focus is still on that bright white center stone. Nothing about the ring overwhelms her hand, and nothing screams, 'Please believe my relationship is real!' " She added, "This is the kind of ring a pop icon has when they're ready for something that means more than just the ring." </P><P> </P><P> </P><P>This is hardly Spears' first engagement ring, however. When Kris Humphries popped the question earlier this year, he gave her a 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond. Of course, the size of the ring didn't guarantee lasting marital bliss: the couple <a href="/news/articles/1673465/kim-kardashian-kris-humphries-divorce-statement.jhtml">split after 72 days</a> of marriage. </P><P> </P><P><big><b> Beyoncé & Jay-Z</b></big><br> </P><P>Like Humpdash, Jay-Z, who is expecting his first <a href="/news/articles/1669849/beyonce-pregnant-vmas.jhtml">child with wife Beyoncé</a>, also went the Lorraine Schwartz route. He gave his pop-star lady love an 18-carat ring back in 2007.
