Britney Spears Joins 'X Factor' As A Judge

Pop star will earn a reported $15 million for one season.
By Katie Byrne

<P>Move over, Christina! Now that "The Voice" has wrapped, it's time for another Mouseketeer-turned-diva to judge future music stars: Britney Spears has reportedly signed a deal to be a judge on "The X Factor," according to <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/its_official_britney_spears_signs_x/312961" target="_blank">E! News</a>.</P><P>News first broke in early March that the pop star was in negotiations to join the panel of Fox's reality singing competition, and last month, it was reported that Spears was being offered $15 million for one season of the show &#8212; $3 million more than Jennifer Lopez earns as a judge on "American Idol."</P><P>"The contract is signed," a source told E! "There's been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she's on. It's all completed and Britney is beyond excited."</P><P>In an April interview with <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/04/17/simon-cowell-britney-spears-x-factor-tmz-live/" target="_blank">TMZ</a>, Cowell remained mum about the Spears negotiation rumors but admitted that he would "love" to have her on "X Factor."</P><P>"I think it would be a coup," he said. "I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to, so we'll have to wait and see."</P><P>Spears will join returning mentors Cowell and record executive L.A. Reid on the panel.</P><P>Several stars &#8212; from <a href="/news/articles/1684320/x-factor-judges-miley-cyrus-britney-spears.jhtml">Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato</a> to Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey &#8212; were reportedly discussed as possible <a href="/news/articles/1678191/paula-abdul-exits-x-factor.jhtml">replacements for Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul</a> before Spears became the front-runner. There's no word yet on whether one of those rumored contenders (or anyone, for that matter) will join the show as a fourth judge.</P><P>"The X Factor" returns to Fox in September, with auditions already under way.</P><P><i>Are you excited for Britney to join "The X Factor"? Let us know in the comments!</i></P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1617615"><img src="http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/s/spotted/banner/spotted.jpg"></a></p>

Kristen Stewart Wants To Be A 'Better Person' Like Snow White

'She's truly bleeding for other people,' 'Snow White and the Hunstman' star says on 'MTV First' about her character.

Kristen Stewart puts her inner action star on full display as the butt-kicking Snow White in "Snow White and the Huntsman." But, it's her vulnerability that Stewart related to most with the chainmail-wearing princess.

"I think that I related to Snowy because ... I love her," she laughed to MTV News during "MTV First: Snow White and the Hunstman" on Tuesday night. "She feels such strong things and sort of can't say exactly why she feels those things ... and I can completely relate to that and I also can relate to feeling arrogant about it a little bit. Sort of like 'It's not about being who you are; it's sort of not saying what everyone thinks I'm going to say because I'm uncomfortable' ... She's like very instinctive and sort of awesome in that way."

Having already brought to life one literary heroine playing "Twilight" leading lady Bella Swan, she explained that she didn't feel pressure to have to tackle Snow White, mostly because there was enough room for her to interrupt the character the way she felt was natural.

"I mean she's such a child in the beginning and has such a strong sense of self in a way that sort of isn't normal, like supernaturally almost," she said. "She's got this connection to the Earth and to her people that makes her like so truly empathetic and not sympathetic.

"She's not putting herself in a position and going, 'Oh, how horrible would that be for me.' She's truly bleeding for other people," she said. "It's a different feeling. It's something I want to get to if I can be a better person. She's a great girl. She's a good person."

"Snow White and the Huntsman," which also stars Charlize Theron (who plays the evil queen Ravenna), Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman) and Sam Claflin (the charming Prince William), hits theaters June 1.

Check out everything we've got on "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Michael Jackson Immortal Tour: How They Uphold The Legacy

MTV News gets a behind-the-scenes look at the Cirque Du Soleil tribute to the King of Pop.
By Uptin Saiidi

<P><b>NEWARK</b> &#8212; Since its opening, <a href="/news/articles/1682347/michael-jackson-immortal-cirque.jhtml">Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour</a> by Cirque Du Soleil has honored the King of Pop through music, dance and acrobatics 117 times. Night after night, artists celebrate the life of the late Michael Jackson, but how do they take his iconic legacy and put it into a production? When the tour came to New York City this week, MTV News went behind the scenes to talk with the creative forces and performers to find out.</P><P>The artists (all 65 of them) had limited time to train and learn choreography -- an especially difficult feat when it's honoring MJ's signature moves. It was a kind of pressure that creative director Tara Young certainly learned to channel into a positive force.</P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:755805/cp~vid%3D755805%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A755805" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER></P><P>"I think it is a pressure for sure; something I share with the whole building here is that we have nothing to prove, only to share," Young told MTV News. "We have an opportunity to share what Michael would have wanted to share and the pressure is only there to achieve excellence."</P><P>For Felix Cane, a two-time world champion pole dancer who does a captivating performance to "Danger," it was all about using that pressure to help the audience to remember the pop icon. "You are sharing this passion with them, and this love of MJ. There's times in the show when some people and I, myself, might have shed a few tears."</P><P>That pressure never felt as great as when the Jackson family sat in the front row at a show in Montreal, an experience Young described as "inspiring." When asked what MJ would think if he were sitting there with them, Young smiled, "He would feel such a sense of pride of what he has given us to work with. It evokes emotions in people that they didn't even know were going to come out."</P><P>I think everyone feels inspired, which evokes a certain feeling of change," Young added. "You feel a sadness too because he is not with us anymore, and that is an emotion that is wonderful too actually ... just to honor him."</P><P>The tour will continue in North America through the summer, before heading to Europe this fall.</P><P><i>Have you seen Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour? What did you think?
